The Roquette group
Our main investor, the Roquette group, is one of the world leaders in the fields of starches and their derivatives – dextrose, maltodextrins, polyols, etc. – designed for the food processing, pharmaceutical, paper/board, chemistry and animal nutrition industries. Roquette thus processes over 6 million tons a year of renewable agricultural raw materials (maize, wheat, potatoes and peas) on 18 production sites distributed throughout the world.
With over 6,000 staff, Roquette has developed a global network endowed with research centres and high-performance production facilities distributed over Europe, the United States and Asia, and above all an averred philosophy of customer service.
The products and solutions proposed by Roquette provide functional properties -texture, binding, viscosity – or nutritional qualities in the very many applications in which they are used.
Roquette has been pursuing for many years an ambitious policy in terms of Research & Development. Vegetal-based chemistry and nutrition-health are the leitmotifs of the sustainable innovation programmes conducted by Roquette.
The objective of the BIOHUB® innovation programme, launched in 2006, is to develop new production sectors for chemicals based on renewable agricultural raw materials such as cereals. GAÏAHUB® is also a vegetal-based chemistry innovation programme whose ambition is to provide a response to the new expectations expressed in the fields of bio-based plastics and more generally speaking the replacement of petroleum-based polymers on all the markets.
The aim of the NUTRAHUB® programme is to propose to the food and pharmaceutical industries new functional ingredients to prevent risks of chronic diseases and a response to specific dietary needs. ALGOHUB® is a programme focused on microalgae and the use of their potentials for attaining new nutrition health targets.
